(BARDSTOWN) – Crystal Rogers’ mother, Sherry Ballard, is publicly thanking the FBI just days after guilty verdicts were handed down in her daughter’s case.

Following the conviction of Rogers’ boyfriend Brooks Houck and co-defendant Joseph Lawson on Tuesday, Ballard shared a Facebook post praising the FBI’s dedication — especially agent Steve Keary. She credited him with his compassion and tireless work on the case, writing, “He never forgot a birthday of my daughter’s or an important anniversary date… I would personally like to thank his family too because I know this job took a lot of that time away.”

Ballard’s post accompanied a statement from FBI Louisville, highlighting the launch of “Operation Justice Rising” in 2020 and thanking multiple law enforcement partners for helping deliver justice after nearly a decade.

Steve Lawson, Joseph Lawson’s father, was also convicted in connection to the case.
