(BARDSTOWN) – Sheriff Ramon Pineora made a Facebook post responding to earlier comments from today from Prosecutor Shane Young. The post reads:
“I have to address the negative comments made by the Special Procecutor.
Late Tuesday evening, I received a text from Shay McAlister requesting an interview regarding the Crystal Roger’s case. I wasn’t sure but I told her that I would think about it. Wednesday morning, when she reached out, l agreed. The interview was my opinion. The questions from Shay were, “Do you think…, Do you see…, Why do you believe…?” My answers were, “I can see it.” “I believe so.”
“I don’t know for a fact…” My opinion is based on what Shane Young has said in multiple courtrooms, the evidence that has been presented and the prior knowledge I have of this case.
There was fallout for me and the NCSO with our local Prosecutor when I wrote to Attorney General Daniel Cameron requesting a Special Prosecutor, but it was necessary for this case to get the results that Shane was able to get. I was the first to give him praise. Let me just say that the work didn’t start in January of 2023. Seeing the work that Jon Snow-NCSO, Steve-FBI and others did utilized in the conviction meant something especially since Jon and the NCSO had been criticized for years.
So yes, when asked my opinion, I DO KNOW it and I gave it!”
