The Marion County Farm Bureau hosted a candidate forum Monday night, February 2, 2026, at the Marion County Extension Office, featuring candidates seeking the 14th District State Senate seat.

Candidates from both major political parties were invited to speak and share their priorities for the district. Each candidate was introduced and given time to outline the issues they feel are most important and what they hope to accomplish if elected. The forum concluded with a question-and-answer session.

Democratic candidates participating included:

✓ Carries Gribbins Truitt of Marion County

Republican candidates participating included:

✓ Stephen Carney of Washington County

✓ Ben Mudd of Marion County

✓ James Victery of Nelson County

✓ Lynn Shelburne of Spencer County

✓ Dallas Robinson of Larue County

✓ Peggy Brady Smith of Marion County

✓ Brian Bayers of Spencer County is also running as a Republican candidate but was not in attendance at the forum.
