(CENTRAL KY.) – The average price for a gallon of regular gasoline in Kentucky has inched up, according to the latest numbers from AAA.

The statewide average of $2.87 is up two cents from this time a week ago. The average, however, is down 45 cents from a year ago. Locally, drivers in Nelson County are paying around $2.71 on average. Washington County’s average is around $2.79 – the highest price average in the tri-county area. Marion County drivers are paying the lowest prices at the pumps in the tri-county at around $2.63 per gallon.

The national average of $3.17 is up a penny from this time last week, but down 36 cents from last year.
